BUCKWHEAT BREAKFAST PORRIGE A: OK AB: A B: A O: OK

  • 2-1/2 c Water
  • A: HB AB: HB B: HB O: HB
  • 3/4 c Buckwheat whole grain groats, not roasted
  • A: HB AB: A B: A O: N
  • 1/3 c Apricots dried, cut in small pieces
  • A: HB AB: N B: N O: N
  • (or 1/3 c raisins)
  • A: HB AB: N B: N O: N
  • 1/2 t Cinnamon opt.
  • A: N AB: N B: A O: A
  • 1 T Honey
  • A: N AB: N B: N O: N

    Bring water to a boil in saucepan. Stir in buckwheat groats that have been rinsed. Bring back to a boil, reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes on very low heat. After 20 min., add fruit, honey and cinnnamon and simmer another 5 minutes, covered.

    Good served with soy milk. (note: can be doubled and kept in the fridge and reheated in the micro- wave for quick future breakfasts.)
